The Center for Male Sexual Health and Wellness at the Vanguard Urologic Institute

John Dodge completed his Physician's Assistant training with his Bachelor's of Science in Medicine at Western Michigan University in August of 1995.  He immediately went to work in adult and pediatric urology as a member of the house urology staff at St. John's Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan.  During his tenure at St. John's, he completed his Master's degree through the University of Nebraska Medical Center PA Distant Learning Program

In early 1999, John joined Urology Specialists of the Carolinas in Charlotte, NC.  It was here that he began to work with men with sexual dysfunction, whether or not it was caused by prostate surgery.

In July of 2000, John was recruited to the Baylor College of Medicine's Scott Department of Urology to work with some of the leading physicians and researchers in the field of male sexual health.  During his time at Baylor, John worked with men experiencing erectile dysfunction as well as other sexual problems such as low testosterone levels and Peyronie's Disease.

In August of 2004, John joined world-renowned surgeon Dr. Kevin Slawin at the Baylor Prostate Center to bring his wealth of knowledge and experience to Dr. Slawin's post-prostatectomy patients.  This relationship has continued to the present day after the formation of the Vanguard Urologic Institute and the Texas Prostate Center in July of 2007.

In addition, John assists Dr. Slawin on every state of the art robotic surgery performed and provides inpatient hospital care.  This provides a continuity of care that is unique in today's medical environment.

John is currently serving as the Director of the Center for Male Sexual Health and Wellness at the Vanguard Urologic Institute and has developed all of the erectile function preservation protocols used at the Institute.

John also has served on the PA/Physician Advisory boards in the development of Levitra and Cialis prior to their release.
